Nyjer sacks (also referred to as thistle socks) are a great and inexpensive way to feed and attract goldfinches, pine siskins, house finches, redpolls and other clinging birds. These sacks come in two colors, black and gold and are made of nylon mesh. They are the most durable thistle sacks that we have found and they can last easily for a couple of seasons. Nyjer sacks are a wonderful way to feed birds that won't attract large birds which are unable to cling. Both colors are very successful in attracting clinging birds, especially goldfinches. Each sack has a drawstring at the top so if the sack is knocked down by wind you won't lose precious nyjer.
